As one of the UK’s leading firms of Chartered Surveyors in our field, we offer over 50 years’ expertise in advising developers in the acquisition of land and property.
Whether your project is a commercial property development or an application for agricultural land, our team of specialists will ensure it runs smoothly and quickly.
FGP are rural practice Chartered Surveyors and, although also advising in commercial property situations the core expertise is valuation, negotiation and settlement for the acquisition of rights across agricultural, equestrian and amenity land throughout the British Isles. The business developed in the gas, oil, electricity and water industries. More recently this has extended into the energy industries of solar, wind and gas storage & extraction.
Based in the Northwest of England, we are committed to providing the most professional, dynamic and commercially sound service to our clients all over the UK. FGP was set up in 2006 by Claire Priestner, who brings over 25 years’ of experience to the business, to act as specialist Chartered Surveyors in the utilities and infrastructure market. FGP has an ethos that revolves around representing the developer rather than the landowner.
FGP are proud of their 90% success record for voluntary settlements with landowners but also advise and represent clients through the compulsory purchase process where necessary. Over the past 5 years FGP have specialised in Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects. This includes 6 major applications for Development Consent Orders including land referencing, due diligence enquiries, provision of plans and support in the application and compulsory purchase process as well as achieving as many voluntary agreements as possible.
Registered with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and ISO9001 and ISO14001 accredited, we manage a friendly and successful operation that is well recognised within its industry and community. FGP staff are qualified in their disciplines and provided with training programmes to maintain their qualifications. FGP provide Health and Safety training for staff and all the necessary protective equipment to comply with site policies. Support for staff includes maintaining a work life balance within a demanding workplace and pension provision for retirement.
Our aim is simple: to keep growing as the voice of authority in the industries we serve, and to continue to provide the best possible support to our high calibre clients.
Supporting the local community
We also feel it important to give something back to the community, supporting local charities with both financial assistance and with our time where we spend a couple of hours every Friday supporting the local community. FGP is proud to support many other local charities as a "silent giver".
Unrivalled Sector Experience
We operate across all infrastructure sectors to ensure the smooth acquisition of rural land. Advising our clients on the valuation, negotiation and settlement of agreements as well as organising compensation for rights to agricultural, equestrian and amenity land.
Consultancy & Advice
Our team boasts well trained professionals in their industry, skilled in building relationships with landowners on our clients’ behalves. This reduces both the time and the cost of the project and ensures timelines are kept and essential regional relationships maintained.
Focussed on Results
Through every step of the process, we are focussed on delivering the best results for our clients. Thanks to our personal approach, a massive 90% of land agreements managed by FGP are signed voluntarily.
